Sean Carter has been studying and competing in Karate for over 21 years. He is a fourth degree Black Belt in Shotokan Karate.

His competitive accomplishments include being Western Canadian Champion for seven years; competing in the Pan American Games three times and bringing home a gold medal in 1999 from Barbados; placing in the medals for thirteen years out of seventeen in the Nationals; gold medalist in the World Police & Fire Games & Law Enforcement Games; went to Japan and competed in the World Championships (Shoto-Cup); and medalist at many N.K.A and international regional events.

He is a Tactical Team Leader and Senior Instructor at Staff College for Tactical Team Training. He teaches Karate to adults and children of all ages both in Edmonton and as a guest instructor throughout Alberta.

Karate for Life

Edmonton ISKF training goes well beyond 'theoretical Karate'. Sensei Carter's experience as a full-time conflict control instructor for Alberta law enforcement agencies brings a practical perspective to Karate, and helps students develop capabilities for appying Karate not just in tournaments, but in life.
